Configure the Printer Port

The Printer port can be configured while the HSM is in online, offline or secure state.

The user is invited to select either serial printer (connected to the auxiliary port) or parallel printer (connected to the printer port). If Parallel printer is selected then there are no other parameters. If Serial printer is selected then the settings for the auxiliary port must be selected. Note that the auxiliary port can also be configured using the CA (Configure Auxiliary) command; any previous settings are overwritten.

Default Printer Settings

The default settings for a serial printer are:

Character Set:  ASCII

Interface:         RS 232-C (DTE) serial data not parallel

Baud rate:        9600 bps

Stop bits:         1

Data bits:         8

Parity:             None

Flow Control:   XON, XOFF

Note that the parallel printer port has no configurable parameters.
